I am so impressed with your school and all of the fun and wonderful activities that go on throughout the school year! It sounds like the perfect job for you as their school nurse. I am a teacher at a very large public school and it's just too big and populated to do a lot of the fun activities so it's great watching what your school does during the school year.

I love how you actually focus much on things like body wash. Maybe I should too, but I'm relieved just to take a shower and to save effort, mostly use shampoo for everything. Hi, my name is Madi, I'm a nurse and the biggest thing I need in life is peace of mind. I'm not sure why, and figuring it out is very hard, next to impossible in a hectic everyday life. I think that it's mostly because I'm sensitive and emphatic but that might not be the whole story, not even half of it, and that's the scary part - the unknown.

So as the school nurse what do you do for kids with infected toenails, extremity pain, etc? I would love to hear not only what you see but how you treat. 😊

I had an amazing team working on an oncology/ med surge floor.. our nurse manager is the best manager that I have ever had, she would go up against her head manager so that we as a team could have the staff that we needed... but it got to the point of staffing requiring our team to float because none of the other floors had workers which we ended up short all the time... also 12 hours is too much its honestly horrible and draining. Running around for 12 hours, neglecting self, not eating, holding in urine etc because someone needs you, nursing is abuse...

I always see so much beauty in you. Thank you for the insights. I feel beaten up by what my mom went through in a local hospital. I don't know if I'll ever recover. I'm seeing a fraction of what she went through might hit some of the staff. I'm so happy that the staff can get out when they want to.

i wish I could figure it all out. In you I see a charming beautiful person. In my local hospital here, my first reaction was Wow! An RN! Beautiful position, what a wonderful role. But over time... In the context of my local hospital, I now think of many of them as cranky, bickering, dismissive women, probably internally complaining about us behind our backs, often routinely dismissive. Yes, a few helpful efforts from some of the younger workers, but it doesn't take much in the way of staff dismissiveness for us to be blocked from seeing relatives. But hey, Ohio is not Maryland. Cheers!

it warms my heart to see you interact so sweetly with the kids. i remember i had a rude school nurse as a kid and never felt comfortable going to the nurses office because she always seemed like she was suspicious that you were lying or just didn’t care. i’m glad you are making the kiddos feel comfortable coming to you with their ailments

I’m in nursing school now and its sooo refreshing seeing different specialties in our field. And you’ve really open my eyes to school nursing!! Like how does it feel thinking that you’re probably inspiring some little girl or boy to become a nurse when they grow up 🥹❤
